current party: mekhi.species: Electrike gender: Male ability: Static level: 5 friendship: 5 moveset: Tackle, Thunder Wave nature: Hyperactive met: Lab @ lvl 5
Clementine hadn't much enjoyed the ferry ride that had brought her here. It was extremely crowded, which was smothering for her. She had decided she didn't much like being touched by other people, whether it be by accident or on purpose. One man in particular just seemed to constantly rub against her every time the ferry had hit a wave, and it had become very obvious that he meant to any chance he got. She had finally secluded herself in a corner, staring at the waves somberly.
Now that she had reached her destination, it had been more than worth it. The Fire Fields were beautiful. The flowers were unlike anything she had ever seen. Unfortunately, her nose instantly became runny as soon as she had sat down amongst them. Never really having experienced pollen, of course her body had no way of fighting it off. She'd read somewhere that if you ate the honey of local Combee's than your allergies to the pollen would go away. Maybe there was somewhere nearby she could buy a jar, because she certainly wanted to stay in this beautiful place for quite some time.
Mekhi roamed a few yards away, swatting at flowers and rolling in them happily. He enjoyed this place very much too, with all the good smells and the sun high overhead. He glanced over at Clem, who was simply sitting amongst the petals and enjoying the breeze, and yapped softly at her before running to join her.

This time of year, there was no place quite like the Fire Fields for a relaxing afternoon; the scenery was gorgeous, the sweet scent of flowers wafted through the air, and the temperature was mild and cozy despite the rest of the region's increasingly wintry weather. Pokemon were all around, but they didn't seem too eager to pick a fight or approach the trainer and her Electrike. Combee buzzed around the area, pollinating the flowers as they zipped to and fro, and the flowers would occasionally rustle with the movement of some creature scurrying through the underbrush. At one point, far off and nearly camouflaged among the flowers, a Rapidash lifted its head and snorted in Clementine's direction before trotting away.
The tranquil environment was suddenly pierced by a shrill cry from underneath Mekhi's paws. Upon closer inspection, there was a tiny Pokemon clinging to a flower that the pup had just stomped on, and she looked absolutely distraught at the state of the crumpled plant. She made a series of tiny squeaking and whimpering sounds, running her little hands across the petals' surface in an attempt to smooth them out. When this didn't work, the Flabebe started to cry, curling her body over the flower as though she could retroactively protect it from harm.
+My friend... My friend...+ her small voice sobbed, and though her tears glistened like dewdrops upon the white petals, they seemed to provide no nourishment for the plant. Oh, dear... Poor thing.

Clementine was having the time of her life- literally. She was enjoying the fields much more than anything else so far on her journey. Pokemon were everywhere. She just enjoyed looking at them, appreciating the fact that this was all real. She wasn't seeing photographs from books, or film reels on television. This was her, and she was only yards away from them. The beauty of the Rapidash nearly took her breath away, and she lifted one small hand to wave at the majestic Pokemon before it trotted away, leaving a smile on her pale face.
She was busy turning her face to welcome the warmth of the sun. Her peace, however, was disrupted by pitiful cries. She glanced over to see Mekhi frozen, one paw raised in shock, staring into the flowers at the source of the sound. Clementine stood, and waded her way through the plants towards Mekhi. Before she reached him, she saw the Flabebe, cradling the flower and crying. She shot a miserable glance at Mekhi, who could only press himself against the ground guiltily in an attempt to disappear.
Clementine dropped to her knees beside the Pokemon, shaking her head. Mekhi joined her, chin dipped low, a whimper emerging from his parted muzzle. Clementine reached out one hand in an attempt to comfort the Flabebe, speaking slowly and softly. "Shhh... Please, shh... It will be okay."
Mekhi had to force himself to speak, ashamed of what he had done. +I-I'm so sorry, Flabebe. I didn't mean to... I didn't know...+ He trailed off, unable to look at the tiny Pokemon.

The Flabebe was inconsolable; she allowed the trainer's fingers to rub her tiny back, but she seemed to take no comfort from it and seemed not to even hear Clementine or Mekhi as they attempted to soothe and apologize. Her precious friend, her home and her soul mate, had been crushed. Now what was she to do? All was lost, all was ruined...
Several minutes passed as the fairy's little body was wracked by squeaky sobs, and at last she started to calm down, perhaps as a result of Clementine's hushed voice and gentle touches. Though her wails and heaves had subsided, she seemed no less miserable; she still sniffled and rubbed the tears from her eyes using the petals of her crumpled flower. +What will I do...?+ she murmured, peering into the yellow, pollinated eye at the center of the plant.
Then, all at once, she sat up straight with wide eyes, still glistening with moisture. +The Mother!+ she exclaimed, pulling on the stem of the flower to hug it against her chest. +Perhaps... perhaps she can help! Maybe...+ The Flabebe was clearly unsure of her solution, but tentative hope brought some light into her eyes, and her ears fluttered like wings as she rose into the air and turned to properly face Clementine and Mekhi. +P-please... I need help, I...+ As she spoke, it seemed she was unable to hover steadily, as she drooped and sank back towards the ground, landing light as a feather atop Mekhi's back with her flower still held close. She squeezed her eyes shut and continued to speak in a weak voice, hoping that even if this kind human could not understand, her companion might. He had caused this with his carelessness, true, but here was a chance for him to make it right. +The Mother is... underground, beneath the flowers... Into the tunnels, please, take me there...+
Now her plea had been made, and she collapsed atop Mekhi's back, curled around her flower once again. She had clearly sustained some damage from the stomping just as her flower had, though her concern was not for herself.

Clementine felt very helpless as the small creature cried. She looked at Mekhi with pained eyes, heaving a great sigh. When the Pokemon finally began to calm down, a tiny smile played on her lips. Maybe things we're totally better, but at least now the Pokemon could actually speak. Speak it did, and of course, Clementine couldn't understand a word of it. She heaved a sigh, looking to Mekhi for guidance.
+O-Of course, I'll take you wherever you need to go.+ Mekhi tensed as the tiny Pokemon landed on his back, before throwing a glance at Clementine for her to follow him. He began padding away, very aware of the smaller individual camping out on his back. He lead Clementine towards one of the huge gaping holes in the ground. It was big enough for even Clem to walk into without even having to dunk her head. He stepped a few feet inside and turned to look back at his trainer, who was pausing at the door, fear stuck on her face.
"Well, maybe... Maybe we should get Ader out here, just in case... We don't know what's down here." Clementine dug into her bag for a moment before bringing out a Pokeball. She released the Tyrunt that dwelt within. He materialized in a flash of red at the mouth of the cave, confused.
name: Ader species: Tyrunt gender: Male ability: Strong Jaw level: 10 friendship: 5 moves: Tail Whip, Tackle, Roar, Stomp, Poison Fang nature: Ader is great at solving problems! ...as long as the 'solution' involves biting something or otherwise causing damage. When it comes to more peaceful matters, he's really quite clueless. Met: Revived from fossil @ lvl 10
It didn't take Mekhi long to explain. He wanted Ader out here and he wanted him to know what was going on, because out of all of Clementine's pokemon, Ader was obviously the powerhouse. He was not only simply the biggest, but the highest level out of the team. The Tyrunt nodded before stepping into the mouth of the hole. Clementine followed suit, placing one hand on the dinosaur's back as the moved deeper and deeper into the burrow.

((though it's alright this time, please keep in mind that the team you include in your first post should include every pokemon that your character could be using within the thread. so, since mekhi was the only pokemon in the first post, and i believe clem didn't have ader at the time of the thread's creation, only mekhi should be usable within the thread! the thread will probably go on longer and be more enjoyable with more than the one pokemon to use, so i'll let it slide this once, but just keep it in mind for future reference. :> this rule just makes it easier to figure out the level of pokemon to spawn.)) Though the tunnels were uncomfortably warm and humid inside, they were at least well lit; crudely constructed torches blazed along the walls, surely contributing to the stifling heat but making it easier to traverse the tunnels. The dirt flooring was rather muddy, however, and the soft earth squished beneath the feet of Clementine and her team. This was bad enough, but even worse, the group soon came to a fork in the path. There were three different tunnels to choose from, and none stood out as the obvious route they needed to take if they hoped to find this "Mother." All were equally lit, and all were winding enough that a quick glance down a path gave nothing away about what was at its end.
The tiny Flabebe was still out cold, so she wouldn't offer much in the way of counsel. At this point, the only choice was to pick a direction and see where it led, or back out entirely and leave the Flabebe to her misery. That was Clementine's call.
A faint, distant roaring noise echoed through the tunnels, followed by a gentle rumble that made the ground quiver momentarily. While ominous, these cues came from seemingly every direction. It would be hard to say which way would lead Clem closer to the source of the sound, and which ways would lead her away.
Will Clementine go forward, left, or right?

((okay! thanks for letting me know, i hadn't read anywhere in the rules about new pokemon you had gotten in other threads but i'll remember that next time. :3))
Clementine couldn't believe how warm it was in the tunnels. Being very sensitive to cold, warmth was normally very pleasant for the sickly girl, but the humidity that came with this heat seemed unbearable. She rolled her dark sleeves up, rubbing one small hand underneath her bangs to clear her forehead of sweat. Her boots sank softly into the ground as she walked, and she turned to see three definite footprint trails behind her. Hers were small, but Mekhi's pawprints were dwarfed even by hers. Ader's three-toed print looked enormous beside theirs.
When the three came to the split in the trail, they all paused simultaneously. Clem rested a hand on Ader's back, glancing at Mekhi and chewing on her bottom lip thoughtfully. She heaved a great sigh. "This feels so hopeless."
Ader and Mekhi bother lifted their heads to inhale, trying to differentiate each tunnel from the other. Unfortunately, there was no way of telling which direction to take, for the smell of dirt was too strong.
The silence was interrupted by the rumble, and all three of them tensed, pulling closer together. Clementine leaned against the Tyrunt, eyes wide. Whatever was lurking in these tunnels could be dangerous. She could die here, and no one would ever even know. The girl turned her eyes on the Flabebe for confidence; she was here for a reason. Her love for Pokemon would help her through this miss. She stepped forward and kept on the same trail, taking the tunnel in the middle. Her Pokemon followed suite.

The tunnel Clementine had chosen appeared to take the trio deeper, as the path started to slope downwards slightly and the heat became harsher the further they progressed. Even the torches seemed to burn brighter down here. More concerning, though, was the roaring sound the group had heard earlier; every minute or so it would echo through the tunnels once more, and every time it sounded nearer.
Finally, the slope flattened out and the tunnel widened a little before opening up into a huge cave-like room with a multitude of paths leading from it in every direction. There were far more pressing things to think about right now than which direction to go, however. In the middle of the room was a huge, bulky Arcanine, thrashing about and roaring furiously. It headbutted smaller fire-types out of the way with ease but did not seem satisfied with the sound of bodies crashing into the rock walls and splashing against the muddy floor, continuing its rampage.
It and the multitude of other fire-types were distracted at first, busy dealing with one another. However, the Arcanine happened to glance over Clementine's way as it spun this way and that, and it paused momentarily. +HUMAN!+ Its roar alerted the other Pokemon around it, and at least fifteen heads snapped around to stare at her. Most of these creatures were then occupied again a second later as the Arcanine howled and resumed its thrashing, but one Pokemon, a Growlithe, growled at the human warily and leered at the two Pokemon at her sides. Its Intimidate ability was kicking in; apparently it was looking for a fight!

The roaring never ceased, but Clementine and her party grew much more comfortable as it seemed as if whatever was making the sound wasn't coming for their blood, or anything along those lines. Every so often, Clem would glance at the Flabebe, praying to Arceus that it would wake up and help guide them through this tunnels. As the tunnel they were currently in began to widen, Clem glanced around, almost in awe. She had heard that there were a multitude of tunnels beneath the fire fields, but this was something she had not expected. With that awful roaring growing louder and louder it was very apparent they were approaching the source. When they finally entered the "room" of sorts, Clementine could only freeze in shock. Ader took a defensive position in front of his trainer, a guttural growl rising in the back of his throat.
Clem couldn't believe her eyes. More than anything, she was completely confused. She had absolutely no understanding of what the hell was going on here, and didn't even seem to notice the Growlithe when it approached them. Mekhi, however, spoke out. +We don't want to battle you! We're just trying to help the Fla-+
+If ya wanna fight, I'll chew you in half,+ Ader had interrupted the electric-type even as he felt the Intimidate drain him, stomping forward and snarling at the Growlithe, tail lashing angrily. Clementine glanced down, blinking in confusion. She had no idea what sort of exchange was going on, but both Pokemon seemed to be taking on aggressive stances. Before she could speak, Ader screeched and lunged forward towards the Growlithe in an attempt to Tackle it. Intimidate cuts Ader's attack! Ader used Tackle!

Mekhi's attempt at diplomacy actually did appear to get through to the Growlithe. The pup ceased growling momentarily, watching Mekhi with a sort of wary curiosity; it was willing to listen and perhaps talk this one out without fighting. Ader, however, wrecked the group's chances of having a peaceful interaction. His screech and charge had the Growlithe snarling once more, and the fiery little pup hopped out of the way effortlessly due to the rather rash and clumsy nature of the attack.
Instead of immediately retaliating, the Growlithe tilted its head back and Howled, getting itself pumped up and ready for the fight at hand. Then, it launched itself at Ader with its maw agape, ready to clamp down on the dinosaur's hard flesh with a Bite. Perhaps the idea of potentially chipping a tooth in Ader's hide wasn't tremendously appealing, but the Growlithe had strong jaws and fangs, and it was confident in its ability to pierce skin and cause some damage if its attack connected.
Meanwhile, the chaotic mess with the Arcanine continued to play out in the background. The huge creature was still fussing and howling and snarling and launching away every Pokemon that dared get too close. A Houndour was flung so far that it nearly collided with Ader and Growlithe, although it thudded to the ground just short of their squabble. Groaning, the dark-type hound staggered to its feet and limped back into the fray. +Why's he gotta be such a big baby about all this...?+ it could be heard muttering to itself before launching at the Arcanine all over again.
