Q&A!

ANSWERED QUESTIONS Q: $100k (for the Pokemorph injection) doesn't seem that expensive to me. Neither does $120k for a mansion! Why are these supposedly limited to the rich IC? A: Glad you asked! (I made this question up myself so I'd have somewhere to explain this.) Basically, these prices are not the actual amount charged IC. They are relatively high compared to other things on the site, such as items, and they are meant to be this way. However, I wanted everything to be accessible with a little bit of saving up, including the super-expensive Pokemorph injection and some swanky Midocian mansions. In other words, the numbers attached to these things are not the same numbers that are attached IC, but they give an idea of the actual hefty price tag on these items.
Q: Does Decona have an airport? A: Yes. There is a small airport on Pumice Rock, although very few planes fly in and out, and these planes are all relatively tiny. It is much more common for travelers to access the region by boat; chances are a lot of your characters will see Graucan City before they see any other parts of the Decona region.
Q: How much money do our characters start with? A: $5,000, or less if you want for some IC reason, whatever that may be.
Q: Are TMs reusable? A: Yep!
Q: Am I allowed to create a Pokemorph character? Since you're able to buy the Pokemorph serum I was thrown off. A: You definitely are! As long as you have a reasonable explanation for why your character is a Pokemorph, it's fine to create a character that is one from the get-go. The serum is there for characters who start off human but are swayed by their time in Decona to become a Pokemorph.
Q: Are Pokemorphs able to have, say, the arms and legs of their Pokemon? Like a Doduo 'morph having digitigrade, scaled legs and talon feet? A: Absolutely! Mutations of this nature as a result of the Pokemorph injection are quite common. Some Pokemorphs may have only some features, such as a Doduo morph having talon feet but not digitigrade legs (as in the case of George from the Marit Gym!), but just as frequently their very basic anatomy will be modified in extreme ways like this. The lucky morphs are ones with the DNA of relatively humanoid Pokemon! Having your bones and joints rearranged and stretched is not a fun process.
Q: Can I roleplay as a Pokemon? A: Your primary character, i.e. the character you create a profile for, cannot be a Pokemon; they can only be a human or Pokemorph. However, the Pokemon that your character catches should ideally be little characters unto themselves, and many folks here will roleplay them as such! That is to say, while your primary character cannot be Joey the Mightyena, your character Jane can catch Joey the Mightyena, and while Joey is not independent of his trainer in most respects, he can still be a perfectly fleshed-out character. He just talks in Pokespeech instead of human speech, etc.
Q: Do canon teams and organizations, like Team Rocket and Team Plasma, exist within the region? A: Though they exist within the universe's canon, and as such Deconians have probably heard about some of them depending on how much they keep up with the current and past events of other regions, none of the canon teams/organizations have branches within the Decona region as of the moment.
Q: Are people able to catch legendaries? A: Nope! Legendary Pokemon may make appearances for plot reasons, but even this will be quite special and rare, and they will not be catchable under any circumstances.
Q: Can Pokemorphs evolve on Decona? A: Nope! The Pokemorph serum changes a great deal of a person's DNA, but cannot make them so much like a Pokemon that they would be capable of evolution.
Q: What is the extent of Pokemorph's powers on Decona? A: Pokemorphs are capable of almost as much as their Pokemon counterparts. Much like Pokemon, a Pokemorph must work at developing their inhuman abilities; they might start out capable of using a Scratch attack simply because they have claws and that's an easy enough weapon to utilize, but over time that same Pokemorph could learn how to use Ember, and then eventually Flamethrower and Fireblast. (As an example.) It just takes practice, so no freshly-injected Pokemorph is going to be capable of fighting alongside their Pokemon without a hitch. Pokemorphs also can never be as strong as an equivalent Pokemon, meaning that a well-practiced Arcanine morph's Flamethrower will still be weaker than a well-practiced Arcanine's Flamethrower. In terms of non-battle capabilities, like flight, enhanced swimming ability, enhanced speed or strength, etc., this also comes down to practice but tends to be more second-nature and much easier to pick up on, even though the end result will be less impressive than what a morph's Pokemon counterpart would be capable of.
Q: What sort of abilities do Psychic Pokemon have (and part-Psychic, if it makes a difference)? Can they move objects around, pick up on emotions/thoughts, etc? What are some of the factors involved? What abilities or powers do Ghost-types and Dark-types have, for that matter? A: That's up to you, really, and probably varies by species and level of the individual Pokemon! Potentially a powerful psychic-type could be capable of any of those things. Inhibiting factors might include mental resistance on others' part, or if the psychic-type is sick it might not be able to use its abilities as well, etc. But this really is up to the individual player -- at least, within reason! The same goes for ghost-types and dark-types; it just varies by species and individual. A handy reference would be the species' Pokedex entries, and when in doubt, interpreting that species' level-up moves can give you some idea of what that Pokemon would likely be capable of, i.e. if the Pokemon learns Hypnosis early on it's safe to assume they can mess with peoples' heads in some way, if it only learns moves like that later on it might not have the ability until it's much stronger, etc.
