Profile Skeleton

This is the form you must fill out for each character you create on Decona. Though you may play with the format and coding of the profile to your heart's content, and you may add any sections you see fit (i.e. an "interests" section, a "likes/dislikes" section, an "other" section for miscellaneous tidbits of information, etc.), be sure you include all of the sections listed below.

If you're having any trouble completing your profile and would like some advice or assistance, please don't hesitate to contact a staff member! We're happy to help, but please be ready to accept constructive critique and prepared to work towards improvement. We love to see writers bloom and grow, but we can only work with you as much as you are willing!

Before beginning and while working on your profile, review our RP/Character Rules! Your character will not be accepted if they break any of these rules, and while we will let you know any issues that are preventing us from accepting your character so that you can fix them, it's easier for everyone if you try to get it all right on the first shot. :)

Name: Your character's full name.
Nickname(s)/Alias(es): Any names that your character goes by regularly. "None" or "N/A" is an acceptable answer.
Age: How old your character is, in years. Remember the rule which states that any characters younger than 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is over 18 years old.
Gender: The gender your character identifies as.
Pokemorph?: Either state "no" if the character is not a 'morph, or say which Pokemon they are a 'morph of. Keep in mind that Pokemorphism is the result of a relatively new and expensive injection local to Decona. The injection feasibly might have been exported in small amounts to other regions, but keep in mind it would be even more expensive outside the region, and you must have a reasonable explanation in your character's history as to why and how they would acquire and take the injection in the first place. Also keep in mind that no playable Pokemorphs can or will have the genes of legendary Pokemon.
Appearance: What does your character look like? This section must be at least 200 words, although as with all sections of your profile, it may certainly be longer! You may include a picture for reference, but keep in mind the rules which state you cannot use a picture (be it a photo or a drawing or a painting or anything else of that nature) without express permission of the creator. Even if you have a picture, you should describe the appearance of your character in such detail that a picture becomes superfluous. You won't be expected to re-describe your character in your roleplay posts, and are in fact discouraged from doing so without reason, so this is where we really get a feel of what your character looks like.
Personality: Describe what your character is like in a nutshell. This section must be at least 200 words, and we should get the gist of your character's habits and mannerisms and what they're like as a person, but you do not need to describe every little detail if you don't think it's necessary. More than anything else, personality is something we'll be seeing in the roleplay itself, so don't worry too much about making this section huge and detailed! As long as it gives us a good general idea, and meets the word requirement, you're good to go.
History: Tell us about your character's past all the way up until the present. What was their childhood like, their family, their hometown? What events shaped them as they grew up, and what got them to where they are today? This section can be written either as a relatively brief summary, or as a full short story; the choice is yours, but this section must be at least 300 words. Remember that your character cannot be from the Decona region unless you have permission from an admin, and even with permission your profile (and especially your history section) will be scrutinized very closely!
RP Sample: This section is required only for your first character on Decona. Either you may write up a blurb specifically to showcase your ability, in the event that you don't have any recent samples you'd like to share, or you may link to or copy-paste some recent examples. I'd recommend making sure your samples meet our 150-word requirement which applies to most IC posts on Decona, but this isn't absolutely necessary with the RP sample; this section is just to get a sense of what you can do, and isn't pass/fail. Chances are this section will only become really relevant if we're on the fence about the rest of your profile.

After being accepted your character's profile will be moved to the "Accepted Characters" board, and you will be expected to make a thread for your character within the "Trainer's PC" board. Both the character's profile and the character's PC thread should then be linked in your signature for easy access.
