Denton Village has long existed as a small farming town surrounded by well-tilled earth and green grass on all sides. It has had a simple and relatively conflict-free history, as Denton farmers have always been hospitable people and very eager to sell their harvest to whoever's buying. Though Dentonians are typically very friendly and are famous for taking care of their guests as if they were family, they are by no means simple-minded; Denton natives are both farmers and merchants, and they are taught from a young age how to haggle and sell effectively. Still, they manage to be crafty and economical without being cut-throat like so many city businessmen are known to be, and most folks find Dentonians to be very pleasant to do business with.
Though there is never much going on around Denton, the rustic old buildings and quaint farms do draw the occasional tourist in to stay at one of the numerous bed-'n'-breakfasts in the town, and Sophie's Kitchen is a particularly famous local restaurant with fresh Miltank milk as one of its specialties. Denton is also known for its fertile soil and bountiful harvests, of course, and some local businesses have attempted to draw tourism by making this interactive for visitors; petting zoos on small farms are relatively common, and some farms with berry fields will allow for visitors to pay a flat rate and pick a basket full of tasty fresh berries to take home. One attraction which is especially popular with trainers is a local business which rents out small plots of land and sells seeds which will grow battle-handy berries.
OTHER TIDBITS:
- There may not be a gym in Denton, but there are still plenty of trainers in and around the village. Denton farmers have grown up around Pokemon, from livestock and farm animals which help to take care of pests and look after the livestock, to the very pests which the farmers must deal with on a regular basis, such as Rattata and Caterpie. As a result they are often very talented trainers and should not be underestimated just because they may not have plans to take on the Pokemon League.
