Terentia was born and raised in Ambus Town, and not only are her parents both historians, she is also the daughter of the head librarian at the Ambus Library. As a result, Terentia is rather bookish and extremely well-educated about Decona and its myths and history, though she is still young and always eager to learn more. Though typically calm and sweet in nature, she can be a little overzealous when it comes to new information; once she has heard word of something she doesn't yet know she will obsessively pursue the subject until she feels sufficiently informed. This applies primarily to historical or mythical knowledge, but any pieces of information that catch her attention may elicit a similar reaction, and even common gossip is a favorite subject of hers. Many townspeople do come to her with their secrets because she is mute, making her a very good confidante.

Communication with others isn't very difficult for Terentia even if her vocal chords are non-functional. She will type out messages on her phone to "speak" with those who do not know sign language, and she is so close to her Pokemon that she doesn't need to give verbal orders in battle. Though occasionally her Pokemon will glance back at her to read her expression and body language, more often than not she treats battles as a chance to test her Pokemon's training rather than her own skill at directing them in battle. She is a very skilled trainer, so her Pokemon are not to be underestimated. Terentia is infamous for holding gym challenge battles inside the town sauna, and while she is used to the heat and seems almost unfazed by the warmth and humidity, challengers likely will not be. She does understand if a challenger expresses concern for their health due to the heat, though, and will agree to outdoor battles if it seems necessary.

Defeating Terentia will earn victorious challengers a badge, some money (dependent on number of badges acquired previously), and a TM which teaches Fire Blast.
