There are plenty of trainers in Decona who are just visiting or are content to travel and spend night-to-night in sleeping bags and tiny Pokemon Center rooms. However, some non-natives would like to settle down and make Decona their permanent home! To that end, it is possible to become a homeowner by making a visit to the Graucan Real Estate office. A real estate agent would be happy to sell you some property in the Decona Region! Of course, it won't come cheap, but surely having your own bed to sleep in is worth the expense.
HOW IT WORKS There are plenty of settlements in Decona, and in each of these settlements there is property available for interested buyers. Based on where you would like your character's home to be, the price will vary. For example, a home in Midocian City will be considerably pricier than a home in Buteston. If you have the money to burn, though, you'll be able to purchase your own subboard to do with what you wish!
Here is the form that you must fill out and post in this thread to buy your character a home in Decona:
Character: The character who will be paying for this home. Note that you ARE allowed to have multiple characters pool together and pay for a home, or to have one character pay for another's home. Just keep in mind that this is for IC reasons, not because we want you to beg other players OOC to buy your characters real estate in Midocian. If multiple characters are splitting the cost of the property, provide links to the PC threads of each character involved with the transaction, and specify how the cost is being divided; evenly, 70%-30%, etc. If a character is buying a home for another character, the player of the character who is paying should be the one who posts in this thread. Property Location: Midocian, Buteston, Terren, etc.; this determines the cost and where the subboard will be made, as well as the type of property you are buying. Board Description: This will be the board description used for the home's subboard. You may make this as detailed or basic as you'd like, but we request that you keep two things in mind. Firstly, if you are buying a shack in Buteston, your description of the home should convey that it is a shack in Buteston and not a mansion in Midocian. Your character may of course do their best to pretty up the outside and inside as they see fit, but you are getting what you paid for, basically. Secondly, we want the board description to describe the house itself, but if you want to go into extreme detail about the layout and decoration of the inside and how the building is being used then we recommend creating a thread within the subboard that gives all the nitty-gritty information. (Post here to have a staff member sticky threads like this, if you'd like.) The board description should be an adequate but fairly brief descriptor of what a passerby would see if they glanced at the outside of the house and peeked inside for a moment, as well as perhaps what they might have heard about the house if it is noteworthy in that way. If we feel that your board description is too long (more than paragraph-length) or too short (only a sentence or two) we will ask you to adjust accordingly before creating the board. Board Name (Optional): This will be the name of the subboard. If you do not specify a board name, by default we will call it "[Character Name]'s [House Type]". So, if my character Amy Smith buys property in Midocian, the board would be called "Amy Smith's Mansion" by default. If multiple characters are pooling funds to buy a property, we will default to calling it "Amy, Lisa, and Tina's Mansion", for example, which can get very long if a great many characters are pooling funds, so we highly recommend choosing your own board name in these cases. Likewise, please specify a board name if your character is buying a home for another character, or else we will default to naming the property for your character and not for the designated owner.

Once the form has been completed and posted within this thread, a moderator will respond to let you know if everything checks out. If not, they will tell you what needs fixing. If so, they will tell you how much you must deduct from your character's funds, or will say how much each individual will be paying in the event that multiple characters are paying for the property. Then, once you (or all relevant parties) have deducted your funds and posted to say so, the staff member will create your subboard and link it to you! You are free to post again if there is anything you'd like to change or if you'd like a thread within the board stickied, but otherwise, the transaction is done and you're free to do whatever you'd like with your character's new property.
LOCATIONS AND COSTS Each settlement in Decona has its merits and charms, and each property location is priced accordingly. Below are all the locations where characters may purchase property, along with the property descriptions and prices.
Midocian City mansions: $120,000; These properties are massive golden mansions in the residential district of Midocian City. Each property comes with a lush green backyard with a private in-ground pool and limestone paved pool and patio area, perfect for entertaining guests. There is plenty of room for a garden in the front or back, and the property comes with a three-car garage, long paved driveway, and gated entrance to guarantee you never have to interact with your neighbors or worry about plebes wandering onto your lawn. Maids, gardeners, pool boys, and private chefs do not come with the property.
Denton Village farmhouses: $60,000; These cozy old farmhouses sit out front of small fenced-in private fields, great for grazing cattle or for a group of Pokemon to run around in. Each property comes with a small stable, barn, and indoor riding arena, all a little worse for wear but nothing that couldn't be fixed up proper with some elbow grease! The farmhouse itself has two floors and a basement; it boasts a big country kitchen and dining area, a roomy living room with a fireplace, a hooded patio area out back that leads to the fields, and three bedrooms and bathrooms, two upstairs and one on the ground floor. The buildings on the property are all constructed of solid wood and brick, and the utilities are somewhat antiquated, but as long as the well water is monitored for quality control and the fireplace is kept alight during the winter you'll be as comfortable as can be.
Terren City apartments: $35,000; Because Terren City was dug out and built up relatively recently, most of the apartments are quite modern and are certainly well suited to life underground. Many feature a glass wall in the main room to allow an impressive panoramic view of the city below, but all are well-lit throughout and have efficient temperature control units since it can get rather cold down there. The appliances are fully-updated and the floors are mostly carpet to compensate for the chill, though the kitchen and bathroom floors are tiled. Depending on apartment complex these apartments may be suites, with several bedrooms and a sizable living room and bar area in the kitchen, or smaller apartments with only one or two bedrooms and a more modest living area. Utilities are pretty expensive down here, and because it's a rather isolated and remote location compared to other cities in the region it may not be well-suited to everyone, but those who aren't so big on sunshine and heat will mesh well with a strange city like this.
Graucan Port apartments: $35,000; To live right in the center of a big city like Graucan Port, sometimes people have to be willing to pay more for less. These apartments are a little older and a little shabbier than might be found in Terren City, and many of them are studio apartments, some with thin walls erected within to create tiny "rooms" with no ceilings of their own, and some without enough room for even that. Still, for this price range it's easy enough to find decent apartments with enough living space for one or two people, and utilities are included in the cost. Of course, living in the big city means there's plenty of noise at all hours of the day and night, but some may choose to live in Graucan specifically for the night life. It's a busy city with plenty to do, so the lack of space might not be such a big deal since the more active resident may only stumble back to their apartment to sleep before going out on the town again.
Lunita Island cruisers: $80,000; Some folks with money to burn don't love the idea of being anchored on land. To that end, a sizable boat may be a nice alternative! These vessels are comfortable homes in their own right, assuming the occupants aren't worried about seasickness. Though at this price you could hardly call them yachts, they each come with small cabin bedrooms and a larger master bedroom in addition to a kitchen area, bathrooms, living room, and of course the space above-deck where passengers can sit back and watch the waves while catching some rays. The cost of a dockyard membership at both Lunita and Graucan is included in the price tag, but fuel costs and crew salaries are not. Still, able to live untethered and visit a beautiful island like Lunita whenever you want is priceless.
Ambus Town bungalows: $45,000; For those looking to settle down in comfort and tranquility, Ambus Town has you covered. This peaceful, beautiful little town is warm year-round and has a closely knit community of retirees and scholarly types. The bungalows for sale are humbly sized, and because they are raised, each one has a basement with a window letting a bit of light shine in even below ground level. The construction is relatively modern and so the walls are well-insulated, the utilities are updated, and the carpet and wood floors have been recently replaced. Each bungalow comes with a cute cottage kitchen looking out on the dining room and living room area. From there, the bungalows vary in size with some being large enough to have a full master bedroom and bathroom on the first floor in addition to smaller walled-off rooms, and some may only have a small half-bath and bedroom on the first floor with the basement being the "master bedroom" and featuring a full bath and laundry room. Either way, there is a home in Ambus to suit either the bachelor/ette or the family. Choose a model that is right for you!
Buteston shacks: $15,000; Buteston has all the wetness and storminess of Marit Bay without the bustling city feel. The properties available here are rather small and lacking in luxury, but they get the job done. These little shacks are built sturdily with water-resistant wood on top of their own little dock. Out front, each one has its own lantern post for lighting, and inside there is a very small kitchen, a bathroom with an upright shower stall to conserve space, and a main room with enough space for a bed and some other furniture if you arrange it all with enough forethought. In the back, a door leads out onto an extension of the dock, and this serves as a good fishing spot. All in all, these properties aren't much, but they're cheap and comfortable enough if you don't mind the smell and remoteness of the location.
Marit Bay townhouses: $30,000; The buildings in Marit are relatively narrow and packed close together, but residents of the ol' salty city make due by being very practical and economical with what space they have. These two-story townhouses come equipped with a small half-bath, kitchen, and living room on the ground floor, and they come in single-bedroom and two-bedroom varieties, both with a full bath on the second floor. Each townhouse has plenty of shelving and closet space built into every room, and the kitchen cabinets and drawers are arranged in such a way that you'd be surprised how much you can fit. Plus, there's running hot water and a working gas stove and thermostat, so you've got everything you need! The houses' windows look out on smelly back alleys and bustling streets, and the water-resistant wood walls are never quite enough to keep the humidity down inside. This sort of place suits some, though, and there's a certain charm to Marit Bay and the homes within.
[NOTE TO STAFF: Only admins are able to create boards, so while you're free to sticky threads and oversee most of the proceedings within this thread, an admin will need to swoop in and make the board once everything looks good. If someone has been waiting a while for a board to be made, don't hesitate to message an admin and get them to make the board real quick! It doesn't take long and no one should be left waiting more than a day or two.]
